Congregations

New this year! Students will pay their tuition to the congregation. Congregations will pay the school.

1 Work with your students to determine what portion of tuition the student will pay, and what portion of tuition the congregation will pay. Make arrangements for the student to pay their portion to the congregation.
2 Get your student(s) to fill out their Student form online.
Student must fill out their own Student Registration Form.
3 Fill out this CONGREGATION FORM to let us know who the congregation is paying for and how you will pay. The congregation must make sure MWLS receives payment.
3 Checkout. You may choose Mail in Payment or Pay by Credit Card.
4 Mail (or email) students' letters of recommendation.
5 Mail final payment to arrive before June 1

Make checks out to MidAmerica Region with the CONFIRMATION NUMBER on memo line.

Students:

1 Talk to your congregational leaders. Find out what portion of the tuition you will be responsible for. Make sure you pay your portion to your congregation.
  • PARTIAL payment
  • FULL payment
  • none - congregation will pay total tuition
2 Fill out the online form BEFORE JUNE 1.
3 Mail your letters of recommendation BEFORE JUNE 1.
4 Notify your congregation that you have registered and ask them to complete the Congregation Form. They can pay online by credit card or by mailing a check.

This is a two-part fee structure.

The Congregational Fee is always paid by the congregation as a sign of support for the participant's leadership development; in many cases, congregations pay part or all of the tuition fee as well. Participants work directly with their congregations to determine responsibility for the payment of the student's tuition fee.

By June 1, all fees must be paid in full and a letter of recommendation provided by the participant's minister, board president or chair. The letter should state why this participant is recommended for MidWest Leadership School. The letter may be sent by hardcopy or electronically to the school's Registrar (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.).

Adults may apply for a scholarship while registering. Standard scholarships for 2019 will be $150. Additional subsidies are available for individuals from historically marginalized communities.

NOTE TO CONGREGATIONS:

Remember that no more than 4 from a congregation may attend Youth MWLS, plus no more than 4 may attend Adult MWLS. Example:

2 Youth at Youth MWLS and
3 Adults at MWLS =
5 total but no more than 4 at each school, so that is okay.


  • Registrations are processed on a first-come, first-served basis, based on the date received.
  • SPACE IS LIMITED. Get your application in early to reserve your space.
